Sweet Finds into Sweet Treasues

Hey there guys and gals, Jessica here from Homespun Elegance!! It is time for another Sweet Find into Sweet Treasure & sadly, it is my last post as a part of the Sweet Stamp Shop Design Team! I had SUCH a great time on the Summer DT Term, and I met so many lovely & talented crafters!

For my project today, I scored these Patio Hangers @ 90% off in the Clearance Section at Hobby Lobby! WOOHOO! They were originally 6.99 and at 90% off that makes them a mere .69 cents each! Now that is a DEAL!!

I pried off the Sea Horses with a Hammer and a flat head screw driver. Two little girls in my neighborhood were so thrilled to get to choose which Sea Horse they wanted! I sanded them down and painted them Tiffany Blue. This color is the common thread through all of my Interior Design.

I used the Sweet Stamp Shops Old Fashioned Afternoon, "Up Up Up and Away" and the Two Hot Air Balloons! Didn't they turn out so adorable! I sprayed them with a High Gloss Acrylic Spray once the ink dried

So, the total cost for this project was $1.38! You cant beat that for Custom Patio Hangers! Thank you so much for stopping by! I will miss reading all of your comments and sharing this section with the Sweet Stamp Shop Viewers!

Sweet Find Turned into Sweet Treasures

Hey there all you sweet fans!! Jessica here from Homespun Elegance again to show you another Sweet Find turned into a Sweet treasure for under $5.00!

I just wanted to give a little update! I've been in the process of Moving the last two weeks and though we are almost settled in, I still don't have access to the internet!! Well, okay, I have my phone, but as you can see the Blogger app for the android is so limited! So bear with me because this is an amazing gift for a wedding, anniversary, spouse, or can be themed to any season with your Sweet Stamp Shop stamps! Also, if you intend to hand make your Christmas gifts this year, now is the time to get started!

The gift box was essentially free I cut up card board box measured to hold the vase and covered in 2 sheets of card stock both on the inside and outside of the box.

It is 4 pieces for the outside and the bottom is simply taped on! It will all be covered with paper so I wasn't worried about how it looked at this point, just that it was sturdy enough to hold the vase. I made the top using the same folding method (packaging tape) and stamped the lid to coordinate with the gift. Another adorable idea would be to wrap it from the bottom with a ribbon and tie off on the top with a sweet bow and coordinating tag! I scored this vase for 50 cents at a yard sale!

So this makes this gift about 1.00 total! Isn't that crazy! Sometimes it even amazes me when I total up the cost of some of these projects! Since the vase is round obviously an acrylic block was not going to work to stamp with so I simply used the acrylic sheet the stamps and packaged in! Super easy! I used a white pigment ink and a clear embossing powder and heat gun to emboss. I also lined the vase with washi tape! I did this before I did any of the stamping as it gave me a reference to keep the stamped images straight!

I have to tell you this is one of my Favorite Features and project theme! What do you all think?

Love getting ideas and inspiration for projects and gifts for under $5.00? Do you have any suggestions or comments! I would LOVE to know your thoughts! Have any of you tried any of the featured projects in Sweet Finds into Sweet Treasures? I'd love to know! Thank you so much for stopping in today!

Sweet Finds into Sweet Treasures - Granite Coaster Gift Set

Hello there all my SWEET FRIENDS!!

Jessica here from Homespun Elegance, showing you another Sweet Find into a Sweet Treasure for under $5.00! This is one Gift your family and Friends are SURE to love! And this is about that time of the year that crafters are starting their Hand Made Treats for their loved ones, so I sure hope that you will give this a try! I think you just might when you see how easy it is!

Today, I am using the Simply adorable Sweet Stamp Shop Set Old Fashioned Afternoon! This set is Irresistible and above all else, VERSATILE! This set can be used in so many creative ways. As a Nursery Decor Set, Bringing home Baby Card, A Masculine Card, Graduation, and SO much more!

Okay not onto my Sweet Find! I found these darling tiles at Home Depot on the clearance section in an 8 pack for 2.69! Talk about a score! I wiped them down with Soap and Water, then an alcohol Wipe to get off any remaining residue.

QUICK TIP: Alcohol Wipes are my best friend in my craft room! They clean ink off of ANYTHING - Even Staz On ink!

Choose your granite Tiles with the least amount of ridges and the flattest surface possible

Once your Coasters are clean, Choose a Staz On ink and stamp away.

That's IT!

How Easy WAS THAT!?

Tie off with a little Ribbon or Twine and add a matching tag and you have a Sweet Gift For Someone Sweet!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!

I want your feedback!? What else do you think these Tiles would be awesome for?

PS!! Do you want to be a SWEET DESIGNER!?! You will get to work with some FABULOUS people, and the lovely and talented Mrs Sweet, Nicole Rixon! Here are the Deets!

  • Some SWEET FINDS from the totally FREE to the FABULOUSLY FRUGAL to stampcycle into something totally spectacular!
My first project is a Box & Card Set for any Occasion!

{Click Photos To Enlarge}

Let's Start with the Box Lid and Base:

See Photos for Cut and Score Lines

To finish off the Box simply Tie off with Coordinating Ribbon and a Stamped Tag

For the Cards You'll Need:

Let me tell you a little Secret my sweet friends!!

This ADORABLE stamp set is in the Clearance and Retired Stamp Section of the Sweet Stamp Shop Right now!! So once this darling set is gone, it's gone!!

4 Card Bases & 4 Envelopes
4 Matts cut slightly smaller than card base
4 Coordinating Papers from Box Lid cut to size
4 Scraps from Box Lid Cut to size with Stamped Images (Scootin by)
4 Banner Tags cut from Scraps of Box Base (turned over to use Kraft Side) stamped with your     Sentiments (Scootin By)
8 pieces of Coordinating Scraps of Ribbon (I Matched mine to the Card Matt)
A Stapler

On the inside of the Card I used 2 pieces of White Cardstock (Cut into 4 Pieces) for the writing and to coordinate it with the Cards, I simply stamped the image onto a piece of scrap first, and then onto my card so that it was super light and not to distracting.
