Kiss

Hey there sweets!

Todays inspiration comes from the pages of Paper Crafts magazine.  When I saw this gradient star, and simple layout, I knew it was the perfect starting point for my Valentine card.

I brought out some fun glitter from American Crafts, and set to work by die-cutting a heart, and running it through my Xyron sticker maker.

I then took a white panel and stamped the little hearts from the Kiss Me set, in gold ink.  I layered up the glittered die cut heart with foam adhesive, and added a strip of vellum, heat embossed with my sentiment.

Lastly, I added some fun sequins, and outlined my panel with a black multi liner, before adhering it to a pink card base.  It is certainly more embellished than the original, and that's okay!  It is all about getting that creative spark, and running with it.

Thank you for joining me today!  I hope you take a fresh look at some of the magazines you have, and create something one of a kind inspired by it's content.

Designer Spotlight #1

Hello, sweet friends!  It's Judy here, with my first Design Team assignment of the month!

Today begins the first edition of what we will call "Designer Spotlight" for the Sweet Stamp Shop. Twice each month I will spotlight a favorite designer in our crafty industry, share some of his/her work, and create a Sweet Stamp Shop card or two using his/her designs as inspiration. Here we go!

Today's Designer Spotlight is aimed straight at...Heather Campbell of Parker & Molly fame!  Many of you may recognize Heather from her amazing card designs and fun blog. But that's not all!  She has had many, many cards published in both Paper Crafts Magazine and Cards magazine. Oh, and did I mention that she was both Stamping Royalty and in the Top 10 of Gallery Idol at Paper Crafts Magazine in 2012?   This, of course, is all done on the side...by day she is a full-time manufacturing engineer for one of the world's top aerospace manufacturing companies!  This young lady has LOTS of skill and works magic with stamps, let me tell ya!   Be sure to visit her blog HERE for lots of inspiration.

Today I am spotlighting two cards by Heather.  I adore the geometric patterns, the symmetry, and the clean design of this first card!

When I saw this, I was inspired to break out the Sweet Stamp Shop Fall Gratitude set as well as the heart stamp from the Kiss Me set and the arrow image in the new Made By #2 to make my my card:

Here is my card inspired by Heather's work:

This second card by Heather made me smile...simple, clean, fun!

I was inspired to make this card using the Kiss Me set (above):

Big sweet THANKS to Heather Campbell for allowing me to spotlight her this week! Be sure to visit her and give her some love...I'll bet you will be inspired by her work, too!  Thanks, Heather!

For lots more inspiration and information, be sure to check out the Sweet Stamp Shop blog.  Don't forget to check out the newly released stamps, too (they are seriously fun)!   And, of course, join in the Use What You Have Challenge #16, it is always a good time!

Did you know we also have a Facebook page and an awesome Flickr group you can join?  So many great cards to check out!  Be sure to upload your cards to the group...share and inspire us! The Sweet Stamp Shop also has a Pinterest page with a board for each stamp set (seen HERE). The ideas are endless out there...be sure to check it out and be inspired!

Judy

Sweet Find Turned into Sweet Treasures

Hey there all you sweet fans!! Jessica here from Homespun Elegance again to show you another Sweet Find turned into a Sweet treasure for under $5.00!

I just wanted to give a little update! I've been in the process of Moving the last two weeks and though we are almost settled in, I still don't have access to the internet!! Well, okay, I have my phone, but as you can see the Blogger app for the android is so limited! So bear with me because this is an amazing gift for a wedding, anniversary, spouse, or can be themed to any season with your Sweet Stamp Shop stamps! Also, if you intend to hand make your Christmas gifts this year, now is the time to get started!

The gift box was essentially free I cut up card board box measured to hold the vase and covered in 2 sheets of card stock both on the inside and outside of the box.

It is 4 pieces for the outside and the bottom is simply taped on! It will all be covered with paper so I wasn't worried about how it looked at this point, just that it was sturdy enough to hold the vase. I made the top using the same folding method (packaging tape) and stamped the lid to coordinate with the gift. Another adorable idea would be to wrap it from the bottom with a ribbon and tie off on the top with a sweet bow and coordinating tag! I scored this vase for 50 cents at a yard sale!

So this makes this gift about 1.00 total! Isn't that crazy! Sometimes it even amazes me when I total up the cost of some of these projects! Since the vase is round obviously an acrylic block was not going to work to stamp with so I simply used the acrylic sheet the stamps and packaged in! Super easy! I used a white pigment ink and a clear embossing powder and heat gun to emboss. I also lined the vase with washi tape! I did this before I did any of the stamping as it gave me a reference to keep the stamped images straight!

I have to tell you this is one of my Favorite Features and project theme! What do you all think?

Love getting ideas and inspiration for projects and gifts for under $5.00? Do you have any suggestions or comments! I would LOVE to know your thoughts! Have any of you tried any of the featured projects in Sweet Finds into Sweet Treasures? I'd love to know! Thank you so much for stopping in today!
