Happy Friday - A quick note from Nicole

Hi crafty gals! (and maybe even a couple guys!)

First, thank you so much for your over whelming support of our new release. I was packaging like a mad woman this morning and can let you know that if you've placed an order yesterday thru this morning - your package is in route to the USPS!

I know I don't have to tell you that these past couple months have been really slow in business - (I think it has A LOT to do with the election) - SO, it was so heart warming to have such an amazing turn out for the new release. I want to let you know that when you support a small business like mine - it is greatly and completely appreciated. (and ultimately  it's going to help me finally hire some of that help I've been needing!)

Before I get too uusshyy and guuushy --- I wanted to remind you that the sale is still going strong and there is still lots of new sets left for you to grab for $10!

Happy Friday all you "sweet" lovers!!  Kari with you today!!  Did you all enjoy the October Release Week!??  There are some really cute sets in this release!

Well - today it is a regular post featuring Packaged Pretty.  Halloween is right around the corner - so I wanted to feature how you could wrap up some chocolate and give to someone special - although the packaging itself is not Halloween themed.

Who doesn't love getting chocolate - and better yet, it being presented to you in nice way.  I took a plastic container that you can buy in bulk through places like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or even online at Oriental Trading, and filled it with an assortment of minature chocolate.  For the tag, I used the "Warning..." sentiment as it is the truth if someone gave me chocolate as a nice gesture - it would cause a happy dance :).  The blue circle is actually a piece of acetate that I colored with a BG13 Copic Marker, and I stamped the sentiment with Black Staz-On ink.  To wrap it around the container - I just used some gold elastic cord.  I punched out two scallop circles from Green Core'dinations card stock - I love the texture of this card stock.  I used one for my blue acetate circle, and then I used the other scalloped circle for the top of the lid, and I added a cute dimensional sticker for extra flair.  

Then, I wanted to pair that up with a simple - "Just because" card.  I used some textured Bazzill card stock, and put some more of that textured Core'dinations card stock for my panel, and added another dimensional felt sticker - and stamped the "Just because sentiment" in Black Memento ink.  

I think this pair would make anyone's day :)  I know it would me!  And, what better to "Package" it "Pretty" with some 'sweet' stamps!

Double Sweetness with Sweet Tooth and Gnomies by Kari

Hi Everyone!! Kari  with you today!  Happy Monday to you ( Columbus Day here in the States).  Hope everyone had a nice weekend and was able to celebrate World Cardmaking Day on Sat.  Today, I come to you to share two projects I made with two of SSS cute sets - Sweet Tooth and Gnomies.  First up - Sweet Tooth!

I first took a piece of 110 lb white card stock and stamped out the border of circles in VersaMark Ink, and heat-embossed with Early Espresso embossing powder from SU!.  I, then wanted to added some fun bright colors to the background - so I took Picked Raspberry and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and blended those colors onto my card panel.  I, then stamped out the cute candy dispenser and stamped that onto vellum cardstock, and then heat-embossed that with silver embossing powder.   Silver embossing powder has become one of my favorites to heat emboss.  I, then did some fussy cutting that image out and, then added some fun baker's twine and adhered that to some fun pattern paper that really added to the colors of my card panel.  For my sentiment - I altered it a bit from the sentiments in the set - I took "Sweet" from "Sweet Tooth" and "Friend" and my and custom sentiment to combine the two - I also heat-embossed that sentiment with the same Early Espresso embossing powder.    I added some clear gems and colored them with one of my yellow Copic markers!!  Here is another closer look  - 

Next up - Gnomies!  :)  I wanted to do something a little different with this card ( and for me). I made a Twisted Easel Card.  So fun and different!

This is a standard 4.25 square card.  On the card base - I just took left bottom corner of the card, and folded it up to the right top corner, and made creased my fold. Then - I just cut out another 4.25 square panel and adhered it to the left top corner.  For the inside of the card - I added some pattern paper to the bottom base, and then punched out a regular oval and a scallop oval to create the "stopper".  I stamped one of the cute sentiments from the set "Gnome-body like you!".  I then worked on the outside of the card.  I adhered some cloud pattern paper at the top of the card, and then added some scallop trim that I had left over from a previous project.  I stamped out the cute girl gnome and did some Copic color on her hat, pants, and shoes and paper - pieced her top with the same pattern paper that was on the inside of the card base.    I, then stamped out three of mushrooms on the card itself, and then onto some text pattern paper ( probably can't really see the text - its so small). Before I adhered my mushrooms, I stamped out in a pattern the grass image from the set.  To finish the card off - I added three gemstones to the sentiment for an extra "something" to the card.

Bookmarkers using Happy Bugs

Hello SSS lovers!!  Happy Friday to you all!!!  Kari here with you today to share a project using the adorable set Happy Bugs.  I made these cute book markers!  These are super duper easy to make, not to mention - FUN!!

I started out with the jumbo paper clips you can buy at any office supply store.  I stamped out three images - the bee, the lady bug and the butterfly.  I punched them out with a 1 1/2 circle punch.  For the front and back I punched out with a 2 1/2 scalloped circle punch with some patterned paper and card stock to adhere my images to.  I stamped out the adorable sentiments to adhere on the opposite side of the images with the same 1 1/2 circle punch.  For the bee image - I added some stickles to add that "extra something" to the image.  For the lady bug - I added some Enamel Accents to the lady bug's dots on her body.  For the butterfly - I wanted it to have dimension - so I stamped it once on the circle, and again on scratch card stock so I could Copic color my image, and I adhered the butterfly with some glossy accents for security so I could make it look like the butterfly is popping off the circle :)  I adhered the scalloped circles to the jumbo paper clips with large glue dots.  To finish off the scallop circles - I paper pierced each scallop :)
