If you'll recall, in my last post, I counterfeited a Studio Calico scrapbooking kit. Well, I've been working with that homemade kit ever since, and I'm happy to report that I created 5 more layouts in the last two weeks - which must be a record for me. You know what slows me down? Fussing around with all my supplies and always trying to find the perfect element to add! If you're in that same boat, you might want to try a kit of some sort to speed up your scrapping, too!
I used Sweet stamps on each one of these layouts, and each in a little different way, so let me go ahead and show you all 6 layouts - here they are together, it's fun to look at them at a glance and see how different they are:
I've listed out a few details for each layout, plus the stamps I used:
Layout #1
- Inspired by a sketch, find more layout details HERE.
- My journaling uses some stamped words.
- View Finder
- Chalkboard Sign
- Starts Here
- Wheely Like You
- Today Was
Layout #2
- Used washi tape to create a yellow border.
- Masked the hot air balloon images, see Danni's masking tutorial HERE.
- Stamped in grey ink and then layered colorful buttons and stickers on top.
- Old Fashioned Afternoon
- Calendar
- Baby Love
- Wheely Like You
Layout #3
- Lots of stickers and patterned paper.
- Used stamps for a mixed alpha title.
- Stuck with kraft and wood tones for an outdoors feel.
- Alpha Tabs
Layout #4
- Stamped triangles in grey ink.
- Spattered Mister Huey's mist and added brads to add pops of color.
- Triangle Style
Layout #5
- Stuck with grey and aqua tones for a monochromatic look.
- Used an elephant sticker - why not? it's cute, and it's grey!
- Stamped my title in black ink.
- Alpha Tabs
Layout #6
- Stamped stars in blue to add a finishing touch to the layout.
- Mixed letter stickers and parts of phrase stickers to create the title.
- Admit One
I pretty much killed the kit, by the way! Several embellies left, but
not much paper. Check out what I started with, and what's left. (and if you are wondering what happened to all of that brown washi tape...let's just say some little 3-year old hands found that roll!)
Watch out stash, because I'm ready to make a new kit!
Here are some of the stamp sets I used:
Thanks for coming by today! If you'd like to keep tabs on me and my scrapbook layouts, head over to my blog, It's About the Paper, and become a follower. I've already picked out the next kit I'm going to counterfeit!

ReplyDeleteSamantha, you are beyond SWEET! I just feel bad buying tons of new stuff when I have plenty right in front of me, so this worked out really well!
DeleteMichelle, I love the idea of making your own kits with the stash you have...what a great way to get organized and help remember what we even have! I love all your scrapbook layouts, they are each unique (and, honestly, totally awesome) and I love how you encorporated stamps into your layouts. I have a hard time doing that for some reason! Thanks for all your wonderful posts and good job!
ReplyDeleteIt's like shopping your own stash - so fun! I'm so glad you liked my layouts, Judy!
DeleteI really LOVE LOVE LOVE Admit One and Old Fashioned Afternoon! Great layouts! TFS!
