Hi Sweet Friends! It's Charlene here with you today. Are you guys ready to get inky? A few months ago, I saw an awesome video tutorial on YouTube on how to color with Distress Reinkers (sorry, I'm drawing blanks, can't remember who did the video). There are many different techniques out there, but today I'm going to cover what works for me.
Here we go!
- For this technique, I chose the Yummy Love stamp set. It's an awesome set to practice this technique and it's super cute too! Other supplies: Archival ink (definite must-have for watercoloring), watercolor paper, ink, paper towel, and a brush.
- I use an acrylic block to put a teeny tiny drop of ink. That drop right there is more than enough.
- I started with a water brush, but it did not go so well - yikes! So, I switched on over to a good old brush and a cup of water. This is just my preference.
- To color: use a tiny bit of ink and start coloring at the corner and work your way to the center or to where you think the lightest part of the object is....That is pretty much it!
Here are the pears up close on my card:
Here's the full card: Tada!
We would love for you to share your creations with us!
Thank you so much for joining me today. You can see more of my work on my blog, HERE.
