Create special occasion cards in celebration of the season giving by substituting a few new items into your card making stash. I typically use one or more of the following supplies:
- Shimmer or pearlescent paper. Find pearlescent paper at your local craft or office supply store in the cover stock section. This paper will add a touch of fancy to your holiday cards.
- Embossing powder. Most often I use embossing powder in clear and white. Clear embossing powder gives me the ability to stamp in color with my various pigment inks, making the underlying colors pop! White embossing powder creates great solid outlines.
- Embossing ink!
- Anti-static bag. An anti-static bag preps the paper surface for embossing by eliminating static and therefore, any extra embossing powder. Trust me, this little bag will save you a lot of frustration!
- Perfect pearls and an inexpensive paint brush, size 0. Perfect Pearls and a few drops of water are great for coloring on dark surfaces.
I used the Speedy Greetings Set to create these cards and envelope:
