Feeling Trendy- Chalkboard

Hey there crafters!
Michelle B back with another post on what's trending! But first...let's get an answer to the riddle:

When I'm new I'm remarkably plain,
But after first use, I'm never the same,
People clean me a lot, but I'm never like new,
The changes come off, but leave residue.

The answer is: Chalkboard

Well today I am sharing a chalkboard design! These are popping up everwhere and are a pretty easy technique!

I used three sets...
                                                                Chalkboard Sign

Here is my take on the chalkboard craze...

Simply trim your black cardstock, heat emboss your sentiments and images, than use white ink on a sponge applicator to add 'chalk residue' to the background.
I just love the way to fireworks add movement to the card. And adding some sequins really makes it pop! The tiny hearts pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye.

Well, do you like?
I hope you will give it a try!!

How about a give-a-way?
If you can answer this next riddle...*hint* this is our next trend.

I have many feathers to help me fly. I have a body and head but I'm not alive. It is your strength which determines how far I go. You can hold me in your hand but I'm never thrown. What am I?

The winner will receive a  new Made by 2 stamp set

Isn't she awesome!!!
Thank you Nicole!!

See you soon!
Michelle

  3. I think I saw a little hint in three of the stamps sets and your card...
I'm going to guess an arrow.
Ouch just thinking of pulling back on the bow and sending the arrow off reminds me of the many times the bow string hit my arm if I didn't angle it the right way. lol.
Thanks for the chance to win this cute set.

  4. Michelle, I LOVE your how-to instructions for the chalkboard technique...why have I not tried this before? I will, I will! Thanks for the inspiration! As for the riddle, I'm guessing an arrow...I've never actually used a bow and arrow but it sounds about right!

  5. Love the chalkboard technique! Cute card. My guess is a badminton birdie (showing my age here?) It's probably an arrow, though. My son is a whiz with archery, but I have only shot a few arrows.

  7. It's an arrow. The point is the head and the body is the shaft. There are several kinds of bows that you can use to shot the arrow. You would never throw it because it wouldn't go far. My son is a deer hunter and he uses a bow and arrow. We eat all of the meat that he kills so it is not a "frivolous" shoot. Love the stamps. I'd love to win them. thanks.
