Trick or Treat by Laurel Beard

Hi everyone and happy Friday!!! Laurel here bringing you today's post featuring the adorable Halloween set Haunted House! I wanted to make a fun shaped card with a coordinating treat box for Lucas...... Let's take a look, shall we?

I loves shaped cards and having a Silhouette Cameo sure makes it easy, but this is something you could probably trace out and cut on your own if you wanted to!

I took the skull image and ran it thru my Xyron sticker maker machine and then applied Glitter Ritz Stardust Glitter over the top and burnished it with a bone folder (burnished just means pressing really firmly, you can even use your finger if you want). Microfine Glitter is the only glitter I will use now. I seriously tossed the rest. WIth Microfine, you don't get all the excess glitter flaking off your project, which I find to be annoying and messy! :) I created the background using the score board and the jack-o-lanterns were colored with distress markers.

The treat box is also a Silhouette Cameo file. I just cut it out and stamped the fun fence and heat embossed the sentiment all over the background and applied several different colors of the Fall Seasonal Distress Ink (which can now be purchased individually over at Simon Says Stamp) over the top to create this coordinating treat box. I love the way a heat embossed background can really add some fun texture to your projects!

Here's a close up of the set I used! Isn't it adorable??? I made another project using the house which you can find here!  The images on this set can be used in a very clean and simple project or a very detailed project, as some of the other designers have shown you on the blog! I love the set is so versatile.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Embossing and Gelatos with the Sweet Stamp Shop

Hi everyone! Laurel here! I had so much fun creating with my Sweet Stamp Shop sets, I couldn't just stop at one set! So today, I've got two fun cards in store for you using different techniques. I'll start with the more detailed of the two cards! I love the Haunted House set from the newest release! The house is so fun and can be easily converted into a not so haunted house by omitting the bats, but my theme of this card is Halloween so I kept it as is. I colored the house with watercolor pencils and created that gorgeous moon with a circle punch and Faber Castell gelatos.

The background was created using the Crafter's Workshop template and some shimmer spritz in silver and gold. I love the fence in the set! I curved it just a bit and nestled it behind the house. And of course, I had to add some Glossy Accents to the windows....... :) This card really shimmers in person!

And a close up:

And now onto my second card using It's A Man's World. I heat embossed two of the tie images and the bow tie on some textured orange Core'Dinations card stock. See the light orange trim along the  bottom? That's part of the cool card stock so I figured it was perfect for a sentiment strip!

A little heat embossing goes a long way, so I didn't have to add much else to this card other than outlining the card base with the chiseled side of a black Copic marker.... This card would be easy to mass produce and you can customize the sentiment however you want using Sweet Alpha Doodles.

And perfect to use in so many ways!!! I opted to make a tag that could go on a treat bag or a box of Krispy Kreme donuts (my absolute favorite).......

I colored all the images with Copics and added some Liquid Applique to the milkshake (which now I want one thank you very much)..... I added some fun Timeless Twine to the hot dog. It's supposed to be mustard! HA HA HA.....

I hope you enjoyed the tag today! Be sure to head on over to the Sweet Stamp Shop store and check out all the stamps!!! They are the sweetest around!
