A Different Take on Furry Friends Forever

Hey crafters, It's Kelly here. Good Morning and Happy Friday to you!

Any fun plans for the weekend? It's supposed to rain here so I'm hoping to stay busy in my craftroom all weekend (after I get home from work of course :(  )

Today I'm going to be sharing a different take on Furry Friends Forever.

I completely adore all these super cute characters but I also couldn't overlook those acorns. Except I wasn't in the mood to make an Autumn card. I am desperate to hang on to summer! So I turned my acorns into something else :) I LOVE getting more out of my stamps!

FLOWERS! I think they came out super cute so I'll be sharing a few ways to use them.

This card is obviously the first. Just draw a stem with your pen and ruler. Then add some leaves from Melvin and Vernie.  I stamped the "flowers" by stamping and masking to create a full flower. The largest flower and the middle flower use the largest acorn. For that middle flower I just used the acorn tops. I colored them with my copics and trimmed them out. They were added to my card base with dimensional adhesive.

The second is to use different sizes and shapes of the flower to achieve movement on your card. Once again I stamped, masked, and trimmed the flowers. I adhered the leaves flat and the flowers with dimensional adhesive. Those centers? They were created on all the cards using black and white enamel accents. Love this stuff!

Last but not least, Create your own pattern paper. I stamped the acorns on a 2inch strip and colored with my copics. I mounted this flat on my card base framed by two pieces of teal. I left off the "Furry" in my sentiment to flow with the card style.

I hope this inspires you to use your stamps differently. Just because it was created as an acorn doesn't mean it has to be! :) I did want to note I used the small and medium leaves from Melvin and Vernie.

I also wanted to mention I'll be back tomorrow morning with the winners from our last challenge and to announce our new challenge. I hope to see you then!

XoXo
Kelly
