Hey guys and gals!
We're back today with some more inspiration
to get us *Back* in the school mood!
(I know even when I was a kid - going back
to school was always a hard transition - but,
my Mom always wrote little love notes in my
lunch box and I looked forward to it!)
Ok, we have some really talented designers
showing off their crafty muscles today - First
up is Laurel!
I love the background with the numbers!! So
COOL!
Stamps used: Lil Sweet Peps, It's a Man's word.
Supplies: Cuttlebug, Cuttlebug embossing folders, Copics, Tim Holtz Distress Markers, Liquid Pearls
I dry embossed the Petaloo flowers and layered them and applied Liquid Pearls to the center. I dry embossed the number background onto the Core'Dinations card stock and standing it with the Core'Dinaations sanding tool! I also distressed the edges of both Core'Dinations card stock panels. I used Copics to "messy color" the frame green/blue.
Next up is Kelly - check out her awesomeness -
I created a Thank You card set for a teacher. When creating a set I find it easiest to determine my layout and then cut all my pieces. This way I can work in an "assembly line" fashion taking up much less time. After everything was cut I heat embossed Against the Grain with clear embossing powder onto the orange cardstock from Core'dinations. I adhered this to a 4 x 5.25 piece of white. I also adhered a 1/8 strip of Core'dinations scubadiver blue along the right side. I stamped one of the jars from Jars of Sweets to create my vase, I just masked off the lid. I also paperpieced the bottom border using more scubadiver blue. The leaves were stamped on Core'dinations Leaf cardstock and trimmed out. The leaves are from Melvin and Vernie. For my sentiment I turned to Packaged Pretty because I just love the Thank You. It's so pretty with the script "you". I stamped the sentiment on another piece of white, rounded one corner, and adhered it with dimensional adhesive. I wrapped some green Timeless Twine around the ridge side and added a bow. Lastly I adhered my "vase" and added the lovely Petaloo flowers. The leaves were tucked under the bloom. The top left corner was rounded and the whole panel was adhered to a white card base. I absolutely love the way these came out! Such vibrant colors and I adore the way the blue in the blooms matches my cardstock :) I used the same exact layout for the cover of the box. The Petaloo flowers come in a set of 6 with 3 pairs so I created 5 cards and the boxcover.
